It is known how the Armenian authorities will assist the residents of Berdzor and Aghavno

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Artsakh, Hayk Khanumyan, recently informed the residents of the Berdzor and Aghavno communities that they have until August 25 to leave their homes and relocate to other places. According to Khanumyan, some residents will be moved to Artsakh, while others will go to the Republic of Armenia. They will have displaced person status and will benefit from programs for persons displaced due to war.

‘Hraparak’ inquired with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia about how they plan to accommodate those displaced from Berdzor and Aghavno, whether they have any programs for them, and how they will ensure housing and means of livelihood for our compatriots forcibly displaced from Artsakh when they move to Armenia before August 25.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, in response to our inquiry, stated that the Armenian government, through the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, is actively cooperating with the Artsakh government on the issue of temporary accommodation for residents.

‘Priority support will be provided in the form of rent reimbursement while residents are able to apply for state-supported housing acquisition programs,’ said the ministry's spokesperson Zara Manucharyan.
