The 44th Chess Olympiad is nearing its conclusion in Chennai, India. In the penultimate round, the Armenian women's and men's teams competed against Azerbaijan. The men's team achieved a victory over the Azerbaijani squad with a score of 3:1.

In the men's team, Gabriel Sargsyan and Robert Hovhannisyan finished their games with wins. Sargsyan played with the black pieces against Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and emerged victorious, while Hovhannisyan defeated Niyaz Abasov in the 51st move. Hrant Melkumyan and Manuel Petrosyan ended their games in a draw.
