Erdogan's Statement on Establishing Peace: 'If Yerevan Responds'
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the situation in the South Caucasus during the 13th ambassadors' conference in Ankara on Monday, according to Anadolu Agency.
The Turkish leader stated, "If Yerevan responds to Ankara and Baku's 'constructive' initiatives, long-term peace and stability will be established in the region."
In the same event, Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu remarked that special representatives from Turkey and Armenia continue their meetings. "We do not separate this from the processes occurring between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the efforts for resolution and cooperation in the region, which is our main goal. The tension observed in the region in recent days has once again shown how fragile the current ceasefire regime is. During this time, our solidarity with Azerbaijan will be strengthened," Cavusoglu added.
Meanwhile, official Yerevan has repeatedly stated that it sees the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue within the framework of the Minsk Group, emphasizing that Nagorno-Karabakh is not a territorial issue and therefore cannot be discussed in the context of demarcation and delimitation between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
