Some Turkish Banks Have Already Implemented Russian Payment System
Five Turkish banks have already implemented the Russian "Mir" payment system, announced Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after negotiations in Sochi. This was reported by Bloomberg.
During the talks between the Turkish and Russian presidents on August 5, the heads of the central banks of both countries also met. Erdoğan stated that such changes would ease procedures for both Russian tourists and Turkey.
As previously reported, Erdoğan and Putin also agreed that Turkey would partially pay for natural gas supplies in rubles.
