Brother's son received serious injury in Sotk area: Relative reports
President of the Martuni Women's Community Council, Anahit Gevorgyan, wrote on her Facebook page: “Yesterday, on August 6th, my brother's son was seriously injured by gunfire from an Azerbaijani soldier in the Sotk area of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and transported to Yerevan. We are living in 'peace' in Armenia. I have not seen any official publication regarding this yet.”
In a conversation with News.am, Gevorgyan stated: “The incident occurred last night; Nver was injured by the shot of an Azerbaijani sniper. He was immediately taken to the Vardenis hospital and then transferred to Yerevan by reamobile. He was injured in the seating area, but there was no bleeding. Nver is a conscript soldier serving a term of 1.5 years and is set to be discharged in February,” she said.
It is also reported that shortly before, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia announced about a conscript soldier who was injured at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border: “On the evening of August 6th, a conscript soldier of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Private Nver Armeni Gevorgyan (born 2002), sustained a gunshot wound while stationed at a combat position in the eastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The soldier's life is not in danger,” the announcement stated.
