Russian Defense Ministry on Azerbaijani Provocation in Artsakh

The Azerbaijani armed forces have violated the ceasefire regime in Nagorno-Karabakh. This statement was issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“The situation in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers has escalated. The ceasefire regime has been violated by the Azerbaijani armed forces in the vicinity of the Saribabay height (near Yeghtsahogh – Ed.). The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is taking measures to stabilize the situation in coordination with representatives from both the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides,” the statement read.

It is worth noting that starting from 09:00 today, Azerbaijani units have targeted the positions of the Artsakh Defense Army and a permanent deployment site of one of its military units using various calibers of firearms, mortars, grenade launchers, and strike UAVs. The Armenian side reports 2 fatalities and 14 injuries.
