VIDEO: Attempted to Flee by Ram Raiding a Police Vehicle; Nearly 1 kg of Drugs Found
The Criminal Police's Drug Trafficking Prevention Division received operational information, which was carried out in collaboration with partners from the Syunik regional department, as well as the departments of Kapan and Meghri. On July 29, at approximately 4:30 AM, law enforcement stopped a "GAZ-24" vehicle driven by a 56-year-old man registered in Artsakh at a gas station in the Dzork neighborhood of Kapan, accompanied by two passengers.
The driver attempted to flee, ignoring the police’s legal demands, ramming his vehicle into a police "Niva" and two other cars. While the "GAZ-24" was trapped, the police managed to remove the passengers, two men aged 45 and 55, also registered in Artsakh. The fleeing driver subsequently crashed the "GAZ-24" into the wall of the gas station.
After gaining control of the situation, law enforcement searched the bag of one of the passengers, discovering marijuana and a small electronic scale. All three were arrested, and a criminal case was initiated. That same day, a search was conducted on the "Volga" vehicle based on a court decision. A total of 500 grams of opium and 455 grams of hashish were found.
The 45-year-old passenger claimed that the discovered drugs belonged to him. A search was also conducted at his residence in Yerevan, uncovering marijuana and pieces of Subutex. All three men have been detained, and forensic examinations have been appointed. The investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances.
