Those Who Accumulate Millions at the Army's Expense Whine Against Those Who Talk About Peace: Aleksanyan
There are few things more disgusting in the world than cheap hypocrisy. This was stated by Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction of the National Assembly, on his Facebook page.
He noted, in particular, that “for 30 years, a very specific and comprehensive circle has done everything possible to exempt its sons from military service, at best sending them to some safe and ‘resort-like’ military unit, while simultaneously drafting boys with various serious medical conditions completely incompatible with military service.
This same circle has viewed the army solely and exclusively as a means of enrichment, selling everything related to it—from officer ranks to soldier's shirts and socks, and considering a soldier's food only from the perspective of how little the soldier eats, so that the more might go to the pigs fed on his food. And let’s not even talk about weapons and military equipment: when in 2016 the gentleman spoke of heroic battles with 1980s production weaponry, it caused an unbelievable shock amongst many who had not served in the army, while those of us who had service would meet and smirkingly point out that during our service years we had not seen even ONE piece of weaponry or equipment from the 1980s—the oldest were from the 1970s at best.
And now, when this very narrow circle, which has hidden their sons from the army and has accumulated millions at the army's expense, raises an exceptional whine against those who talk about peace, one just wants to open a museum of hypocrisy and display their faces from various angles there.
By the way, the young members of a well-known party are not lagging behind these scoundrels. Having repatriated themselves to Armenia from various countries and securing Armenian passports for all female members of their families, they philosophically await the completion of the 27 years, probably based on the same philosophical motivations and not because they are waiting for the end of their military service age. And as for how the land can bear such hypocrisy, only God knows.”
