Araik Harutyunyan on the Situation at the Border in Artsakh
The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, convened an extended meeting of the Security Council on August 2, with the participation of political forces from the National Assembly. The situation created along the contact line the previous day was discussed.
Defense Minister Kamo Vardanyan presented a report, stating that tensions continue to remain in several sections of the contact line, and the Defense Army is maintaining control of the situation without human and positional losses.
The next item on the agenda concerned the corridor connecting the Republic of Artsakh with the Republic of Armenia. The Azerbaijani side, through the peacekeeping troops stationed in Artsakh, has demanded that traffic be organized via a new route in the near future.
During the Security Council meeting, steps to be taken in the current situation were discussed, including ensuring safe traffic through the Russian peacekeeping forces.
