Photos: 100 Doctors Successfully Separate Conjoined Twins with Merged Heads in Brazil

Three-year-old brothers Bernardo and Arthur Lima from Brazil, who were born with conjoined heads, including parts of their brains, underwent seven surgeries in Rio de Janeiro under the direction of Dr. Noor ul Owase Jelani from a London hospital. As a result, the brothers have been successfully separated, with the last operation taking more than 20 hours.

According to the Daily Mail, nearly 100 doctors operated on the three-year-old children, who spent 27 hours on the operating table during the final procedure. Specialists have emphasized that this was one of the most complex surgeries ever performed for the separation of Siamese twins. The boys are now in recovery.
