«I Am Still at the Airport»: Masis Abrahamyan on Being Prevented from Entering Armenia
Members of the Dashnak Party are law-abiding individuals, and if the law requires them to leave the country, then they will do so, but that does not mean that these actions will go unanswered. This was stated by Masis Abrahamyan, the chairman of the Armenian National Committee of the Netherlands, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia. It was reported earlier this morning that his entry into Armenia has also been banned.
“I have specific remarks not aimed at Nikol Pashinyan personally, but at those who support him and work for him—the informants who compile lists and send them out, and their actions will definitely receive a worthy response,” emphasized Masis Abrahamyan.
In our conversation, he mentioned that he arrived at Zvartnots Airport around 5 AM today. Until this moment, he has been in the transit area of the airport. He noted that in this situation, the only consolation is that he can see Mount Masis from the airport window, albeit faintly. According to him, representatives from the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia met with him, got acquainted with the situation, and promised to ensure a meeting with a lawyer.
Abrahamyan stressed that he plans to file a complaint regarding the incident with the help of a lawyer. It is noteworthy that just hours ago, human rights defender Ruben Melikyan announced on his Facebook page that he received an offer to take on Masis Abrahamyan's case and has agreed.
Abrahamyan added that until this moment, no airport staff has provided him with a proper explanation of why he is not allowed to enter his homeland.
