China Has No Reason to Use Pelosi's Visit to Taiwan as a Pretext for Aggression, Pentagon Spokesperson

The United States does not support Taiwan's independence. This was stated by Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby during a White House briefing.

He added that there is no reason for China to use House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan as a pretext for aggression, but if this occurs, the responsibility will lie with Beijing.

Kirby also mentioned that Pelosi has not confirmed any plans to travel to Taiwan, but she has the right to do so if she wishes.
