Agreed Surrender or Azerbaijani Blackmail? Tigran Abrahamyan

Secretary of the "I Have Honor" faction Tigran Abrahamyan writes:

"In the last week, Azerbaijan has been conducting an aggressive information campaign. Continuous official statements are being circulated in various directions regarding violations of the ceasefire regime by Artsakh and Armenia, which clearly aim to amplify the noise surrounding these 'violations.' I have the impression that Azerbaijan is preparing for information provocation, perhaps aggression.

In this context, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and the Defense Army of Artsakh are regularly issuing denials, which further highlights the 'homework' being conducted by Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani propaganda machinery never organizes such information assaults randomly. Incidentally, days ago, unofficial statements were circulated on one of the Azerbaijani Telegram channels warning that photographing and publishing movements of military equipment, armaments, and military columns is prohibited, and military journalists are even being detained for posts of a military nature.

At the same time, various Azerbaijani officials were discussing the demilitarization of Artsakh, sometimes directly, sometimes by hinting at the supposed necessity of conducting 'anti-terrorist operations.'

On the other hand, among our society, particularly in border areas, rumors are circulating about enemy movements in various directions. It is currently difficult to ascertain whether these movements pertain to training exercises, engineering works, displays of force, or preparations for localized actions.

Such comprehensive information can only be possessed by the state through its relevant agencies, however, the authorities remain silent. From this perspective, let’s consider two primary scenarios for development.

Firstly, Azerbaijan, dissatisfied with the pace of negotiations with Armenia, resorts to blackmail with troop movements and harsh rhetoric, threatening to realize its territorial and political ambitions through the use of force.

Secondly, my greatest concern is that Azerbaijan may be staging a coordinated aggression with the Armenian authorities, surrendering new territories. Territories for which there are backstage agreements, but the peaceful surrender of which is fraught with a loss of power for the Armenian authorities. For them, the preservation of their power is more important than maintaining the territorial integrity of Armenia.

After the 44-day war, the Armenian authorities persuaded the public that by entering into a disgraceful agreement with Azerbaijan, they saved 25,000 lives, and by surrendering Kovsakan and Sanasar, they prevented a larger aggression.

The process of surrendering Artsakh and Armenia continues after the war, and the authorities continue to justify themselves and search for new 'justifications' for their concessions.

Is this an agreed surrender or Azerbaijani blackmail? In either case, we are dealing with processes that imply extremely grave consequences for Armenia and Artsakh."
