Putin's Statement on Unique Missile Systems: 'Just Mentioning Them Suffices'

Russia's Armed Forces will begin supplying the "Zircon" hypersonic missile systems in the coming months, as announced by President Vladimir Putin during a naval parade in St. Petersburg.

"Just mentioning the world’s unparalleled advanced 'Zircon' hypersonic missile systems, which recognize no obstacles in their path, is sufficient. The supply of these systems will begin in the coming months," said Putin.

He noted that the first ship to use the "Zircon" will be the frigate "Admiral Gorshkov." "The 'Admiral Gorshkov' frigate will be the first to enter combat duty with this fearsome weapon," declared the Russian president.

According to him, the service period for the ship will be determined based on the interests of ensuring Russia's security.

The Day of the Russian Navy is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of July. This year, the Russian Navy is marking its 326th anniversary. Additionally, this year the fleet has incorporated the "Belgorod" nuclear submarine, which will become the first experimental carrier of the "Poseidon" underwater nuclear drones.

As reported by the Kremlin's website, Putin, accompanied by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Nikolai Yevmenov, and the acting commander of the Western Military District Vladimir Kochetkov, passed in front of a lineup of combat ships in the Gulf of Finland and during the Kronstadt raid.

Earlier, the Deputy Commander of the Navy, Vladimir Kasatonov, informed journalists that this time 47 ships and 42 aircraft will participate in the parade. The submarines "Severodvinsk," "Magadan," and "Vepr" will join the military exhibition at the Kronstadt parade. Among the innovations are female crews and a large number of sailing vessels.

The parade will conclude with a solemn march of parade units along the coastal section of Senate Square.
