VIDEO: The queue of cars at Upper Lars stretches for kilometers
The queue of cars at Upper Lars stretches for kilometers. Sputnik Georgia has released footage of the situation.
This situation was reported by the Georgian television channel 'Mtavari Arkhi' on July 28. Due to a large number of vehicles, the Lars checkpoint is unable to process them. The queue of heavy vehicles starts from the village of Natakhtari, not far from the city of Mtskheta. Drivers say they have been in line for 10 to 14 days.
The traffic jam is caused by the massive influx of Russian-registered personal vehicles heading from Russia to Georgia. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that only three employees of the Georgian customs work at the Lars checkpoint, while the flow of vehicles has been unprecedented in the last two to three weeks.
