July 30 Declared a Day of Mourning in Georgia
In connection with the tragedy that occurred in Gudauri, July 30 has been declared a day of mourning in Georgia. This was stated in a statement by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili.
The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased. “I am deeply saddened by the death of crew members, rescuers, and doctors due to the crash of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' border police helicopter in Gudauri. In this difficult moment, I express my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. Due to the tragedy, July 30 will be declared a day of mourning in the country,” stated Irakli Gharibashvili.
It is reminded that today, the helicopter belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) border police, which was involved in the rescue operations for paragliders who had fallen in Gudauri, lost control and crashed.
