I Have Resigned from My Position at My Own Request: Ashot Sargsyan

Member of the Yerevan Council from the 'My Step' faction, Ashot Sargsyan, announced on his Facebook page: “Dear compatriots, friends, I have resigned from the position of Deputy Director of the National Center for Infectious Diseases at my own request. The years 2020-2021 were very difficult for the sector—COVID, and the war posed significant challenges for healthcare workers. I thank everyone who helped us overcome this path together.

Since 2006, I have been working in the healthcare system, and since 2018, I have participated in and witnessed numerous reforms. I have worked in the system for 15 years, and I want to acknowledge that Armenia has not had a Health Minister like Arsen Torosyan; more reforms were made in two years than in the last 20 years, for which I am grateful. During this period, I have tried to be as helpful as possible to people and to address existing issues. I thank everyone for their trust and effective cooperation.”
