Judicial System Divided into Two Parts: What We Know
The newspaper "Joghourd" reports: "As is known, yesterday the General Assembly of Judges took place, during which judge Naira Hovsepyan was elected as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council of Armenia. It is noteworthy that judges who have consistently raised issues of pressure and have caused uproar within the judicial system were absent from yesterday's meeting.
"Joghourd" fixed the absence of Zarouhi Nakhshekyan, Mkhihtar Papoyan, Arman Hovhannisyan, Vazgen Rshpunin, and others, meaning that the judges who have repeatedly spoken out against the pressures on the judicial system were missing from the session. Interestingly, judges dealing with high-profile cases were also absent. Among them are judges Arman Danielyan and Mnatsakan Martirosyan.
Essentially, the judicial system has split into two parts, and the groups of judges within these factions were not present at the assembly; both the judges speaking out against pressure and those dealing with high-profile cases were not in attendance. Perhaps in the latter case, the reason is to avoid potential questions from journalists. In any case, we are facing a situation where there is once again a troubling scenario within the judiciary, and not everyone is present at one of the sector's most important events."
