Turkey Criticizes UN General Assembly Leader for Visiting Armenian Genocide Memorial

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticized the President of the UN General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid, for visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial.

In Ankara, officials reiterated claims about “attempts to distort historical facts.” Earlier today, it was reported that Shahid, who is currently in Armenia, made a post regarding his visit to Tsitsernakaberd but later deleted it.

In his post, the UN General Assembly leader mentioned the Armenian Genocide.
