Video: Host Fainted After Liz Truss’s Latest Nonsense, Zakharova Comments on Interrupted TV Debate
The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the unexpected interruption of the TV debate among candidates for the UK Prime Minister. This was reported by Izvestia.
“Just in the morning, I was discussing with my colleague what monstrous absurdities the UK Prime Minister candidates are uttering about Russia in the ‘debate.’ We were arguing whether this is an innovation or an English tradition,” Zakharova stated, highlighting that during the debate, the host fainted after the candidate Liz Truss's 'latest astounding nonsense.'
“No director could have thought of a better climax,” Zakharova wrote.
It is worth noting that the TV debate for the position of Prime Minister of the UK was interrupted due to noise in the studio. When Foreign Secretary Liz Truss began answering a question about Russia, noise was heard in the studio.
“If he (Russian President Vladimir Putin) succeeds in Ukraine, he will not stop there. He will challenge freedom and democracy,” the foreign secretary managed to say before her speech was interrupted. Truss then exclaimed, “Oh my God,” after which the broadcast was cut off.
