Mount Hatis and the Statue of Christ: Current Developments

The head of the Akunk community in Kotayk Province, Hunan Rubenyan, has granted a construction permit for a water pipeline to the 'Gagik Tsarukyan' charitable foundation. This information was revealed by 'Hetq', based on a decision signed by the community head on July 25.

According to the decision, the project documents prepared by 'SM STUDIO' LLC on behalf of the developer, 'Gagik Tsarukyan' charitable foundation, have been approved, allowing for the construction of a 2.4 km water pipeline in the community of Akunk, village of Zovashen, in the specified areas with codes 07-028-0114-0016 and 07-0228-0114-0017.

These two areas are owned by the 'Gagik Tsarukyan' charitable foundation and are located at the summit of Mount Hatis. 'Hetq' had previously presented the story of the privatization of the summit of Mount Hatis, according to which the 'Gagik Tsarukyan' foundation has become the owner of over 140 hectares of land this year.

Former MP and prominent businessman Gagik Tsarukyan plans to construct a large-scale statue of Jesus Christ on the summit of Hatis.
