Mass Murderer Executed in Japan
In Japan, 39-year-old Tomohiro Kato has been executed for organizing a mass murder in central Tokyo's Akihabara district in 2008. This was reported by NHK television, citing sources within the government.
According to representatives from government circles, Tomohiro Kato, who staged the massacre on Tokyo's Akihabara Street 14 years ago and had been sentenced to death, was hanged on the morning of July 26.
During the killings in 2008, seven people lost their lives, and ten others were injured. This marks the second execution under Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's administration. In Japan, the death penalty by hanging is applied in cases of multiple murders.
