Gunshots in Ararat Province: Among the Injured is a Woman
Today, on July 26, gunshots were heard in Ararat Province. At around 02:40, the police department in Ashtarak received a call from the "Ashtarak" medical center reporting that a citizen had been admitted with "multiple surface puncture wounds to the lower extremities."
According to shamshyan.com, police determined that the injured individual is 52-year-old Varduhi Hakobyan, a resident of the village of Ghazaravan in Ararat province.
At the same time, another citizen is admitted to the hospital with "multiple puncture wounds to the right foot." Police at the scene found that he is 28-year-old Gor Hakobyan, also a resident of the same village.
While the police were clarifying the circumstances of the incident, at 3 AM, another citizen with "abrasions to the left cheek" was admitted to the "Ashtarak" medical center. Ashtarak police discovered that he is 30-year-old Gnel Hakobyan, also from the same village.
While the doctors were organizing treatment for the injured, the criminal investigation department of the Ararat provincial police, along with the Ashtarak police, conducted necessary operational and investigative measures. They found out that at around 02:00, in an alley on the 1st street of Ghazaravan village, a dispute broke out between 26-year-old Tigran Sargsyan from the village and 28-year-old Gurgen Movsisyan from Ashtarak city. During this incident, G. Movsisyan fired a 16 mm caliber weapon belonging to his relative towards T. Sargsyan, then chased him and fired at him again in the same alley. As a result, Varduhi, Gor, and Gnel Hakobyan sustained varying degrees of gunshot injuries.
Police, along with investigators from the Ararat provincial investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, found spent cartridges and the firearm used in the crime during the examination of the scene. The police apprehended T. Sargsyan and presented him to the Ararat provincial investigative department. The police and investigative department are carrying out necessary operational, investigative, and search measures to find G. Movsisyan.
