How Much Money Has Been Withheld from MPs
Despite the boycott from opposition MPs, their absences have been considered disrespectful by the parliamentary leadership, resulting in significant amounts being withheld from their salaries.
Radar Armenia presents the seven MPs with the most disrespectful absences in the National Assembly's 8th convocation and the amounts withheld from them:
- Armen Charchyan (Hayastan faction) - 23 absences from plenary sessions, amount withheld: 737,397 AMD; 5 absences from committee meetings, amount withheld: 162,509 AMD.
- Iskhan Sagatelyan (Hayastan faction) - 20 absences from plenary sessions, amount withheld: 857,815 AMD. As the Deputy Speaker, Sagatelyan has not been part of the permanent committees.
- Gegham Manukyan (Hayastan faction) - 20 absences from plenary sessions, amount withheld: 616,040 AMD; 3 absences from committee meetings, amount withheld: 96,369 AMD.
- Armen Rustamyan (Hayastan faction) - 18 absences from plenary sessions, amount withheld: 551,166 AMD; 1 absence from committee meetings, amount withheld: 30,063 AMD.
- Lilit Galstyan (Hayastan faction) - 18 absences from plenary sessions, amount withheld: 551,166 AMD; 3 absences from committee meetings, amount withheld: 94,485 AMD.
- Arthur Khachatryan (Hayastan faction) - 18 absences from plenary sessions, amount withheld: 586,715 AMD; 12 absences from committee meetings, amount withheld: 383,311 AMD.
- Arthur Vanetsyan (Pativ Unem faction) - 18 absences from plenary sessions, amount withheld: 558,467 AMD. As the faction leader, he has not been included in the permanent committee of the National Assembly. It is noteworthy that Vanetsyan resigned from his parliamentary mandate in June of this year.
