Father Kills Son with Kitchen Knife to the Neck, Investigative Committee Reports
The Investigation Committee of Armenia has reported the revelation of a murder case involving a 30-year-old man in the village of Gay. This follows urgent investigative actions undertaken by the regional investigative department of the Vagharchapat division of the Armavir regional investigative committee.
The victim was admitted to the hospital with knife wounds, with notifications of his death received on July 24, 2022, at 18:30.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Through measures carried out in cooperation with the police, several circumstances of the case have been clarified, including the crime scene and the identity of the individual suspected of committing the crime, who is the victim’s father, born in 1957.
The father was arrested on the same day on suspicion of committing the murder and was presented to the initiating body of the proceedings.
During the investigation, the arrested individual participated in an examination of the crime scene, where he indicated the location where he struck his son in the neck with a kitchen knife. Blood-like traces were discovered, samples were taken, and the knife used as the crime weapon was seized, along with the clothing worn by both the victim and his father at the time of the incident.
The pre-trial investigation continues.
