Even Kim Kardashian Was Asked: Hrachya Sargsyan

The Mayor of Yerevan, Hrachya Sargsyan, is conducting a working meeting during which he addressed the reactions to his recent statements. It should be noted that the discussion revolves around a system installed in the 12 administrative districts of Yerevan that provides the opportunity to play the anthem of Yerevan every morning.

He expressed happiness that citizens show great responsibility towards Yerevan and express their opinions about the events occurring in the city, deeming this commendable. He added, “I am confident that with that same diligence, we will remind each other in the streets not to litter, saying ‘why are you throwing garbage, ruining the bus stop?’”

Regarding the announcement, he clarified that the melody of the Erebuni-Yerevan anthem, composed by Edgar Hovhannisyan and with lyrics by P. Sevak, sounds for 3-4 seconds every hour from the tower of Yerevan. “The system has been installed in the administrative districts, and I believe this adds a good color to Yerevan. As for the bells disturbing various people, waking them up at 7 in the morning, the humor was quite good, to be honest. Even Kim Kardashian was asked what she thinks about it; the jokes were quite amusing.”

He also pointed out that the system had been operational for 25 days prior to his announcement, asserting that after his declaration, people continued to wake up in the same manner and that not much changed in their lives; he simply stated that he was working on it.

Hrachya Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the citizens for their awareness regarding the city of Yerevan.
