City Hall Addresses the Metro Situation
The Yerevan City Hall has issued an apology to citizens for the temporary suspension of passenger services in the metro system.
In a recent interview with Auroranews, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Hayk Kostanyan, stated that all metro stations remain closed, with emergency responders conducting operations on-site.
As previously reported, all entrances to the Yerevan metro stations are currently sealed off. This was confirmed by Tatev Khachatryan, the spokesperson for the Yerevan metro, in a conversation with Auroranews.am. She also noted that passengers were evacuated due to reports of the presence of an explosive device within the metro area.
“All station entries are closed. I cannot provide further details at this time,” she emphasized, adding that the metro's operations have been temporarily halted.
