The Upcoming Months Will Be the Most Decisive for Our Existence: Abovyan
Political analyst Arman Abovyan stated that significant processes surrounding Armenia are rapidly approaching a point of irreversibility concerning the physical existence of Armenia and Artsakh.
“Let's simply look at the facts honestly. In just the last month, high-ranking officials from Iran's security and intelligence apparatus have arrived in Armenia, followed a few days later by leaders from the EU, USA, CIA, and the head of Russia's foreign intelligence service. Simultaneously, negotiations are ongoing between Turkey and Armenia. At the same time, the Azerbaijani leadership is openly engaging in apparent blackmail—accusing the Russians in the process—threatening to resume war against Armenia and Artsakh. Additionally, Azerbaijan is sharply intensifying its territorial claims against Armenia at the highest level. It is essential to emphasize that Azerbaijan is effectively demanding the complete disarmament of Artsakh,” said Abovyan.
He underscores that the ultimate goal of the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist coalition is to completely annihilate Artsakh, after which we will witness the disintegration process of Armenia.
“It is clear that this process will be labeled demarcation, delimitation, or the reopening of communications. However, it will not fundamentally change anything since Armenia will be yielding strategic territories of its sovereignty to Azerbaijan in this case. But the most absurd part is that this government, even conceding everything, anticipates achieving peace in return, which, in fact, drastically increases the likelihood of a new war, as it does not take into account the strategic aim of the Turks to have a direct land border with Azerbaijan. And the most dreadful aspect is that nearly all major players are constructing their policies based on the logic that Armenia has completely abandoned its sovereignty. According to this reality, all players will simply ignore the political entity of the Republic of Armenia to achieve their goals. The upcoming months will be nearly the most decisive for our existence. And this is by no means an exaggeration,” he emphasized.
Abovyan stresses that today the leaders of Iran, Russia, and Turkey are meeting in Tehran to determine the real future of the entire region. We are essentially witnessing a process akin to a regional “Potsdam Conference,” while we continue to lie in a state of pro-Turkish and pro-Azerbaijani stupor, deeply indifferent to what will happen to us tomorrow.
