Number Doubled: How Many People Traveled by Train Between Armenia and Georgia

During the first month of the summer passenger transport season that started on June 14, the South Caucasus Railway company transported 7,007 passengers in international communication. This figure more than doubles the number recorded in the same period of 2021, where 3,218 passengers were transported in international communication during the first month of summer transport.

Of the total transported passengers, 3,832 used the international train service to Batumi, while 3,175 traveled to Tbilisi.

For the convenience of Armenian citizens and tourists, this summer season, there are two separate trains in operation: the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan route runs five days a week, while the Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan service operates two days a week.

The South Caucasus Railway continuously conducts work to identify passenger preferences and desires. Surveys are conducted among passengers, and feedback and suggestions from citizens are collected through various communication channels with the management staff of the company. As a result, the quality of the services provided is constantly improving.

It is noteworthy that a total of 220,500 passengers were transported by the South Caucasus Railway company in the first half of 2022, which is a 22 percent increase compared to the same period in 2021.
