Minister of Education and Science Appeals to Police to Halt Works at Hatis
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has appealed to the police regarding the damage to a newly discovered fortress at the summit of Mount Hatis. This information was confirmed by Gegham Melikbekyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry, in a conversation with 'Haykakan Jamanak.'
The appeal was based on the professional conclusion from the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography regarding the damages at the newly discovered fortress at the summit of Hatis. The Ministry has requested that police take measures to halt earth-moving works at the summit of Hatis as soon as possible, and to review the presented conclusion and proceed according to the law.
It is worth noting that the government had positively assessed the project for the statue of Jesus Christ. On July 9, construction for the monumental statue-complex of Jesus Christ was initiated at the summit of Hatis.
