Meeting between Putin and Raisi Underway

Tehran has hosted the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, reports a correspondent from RIA Novosti.

Putin is in the Iranian capital for a one-day visit. As expected, the presidents of the countries will discuss bilateral cooperation as well as international issues.

Following this, the Russian leader will hold talks with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. After that, Putin will meet with his Turkish counterpart, Erdogan. Ultimately, negotiations will take place in Tehran in the format of Russia-Iran-Turkey.

It is anticipated that the presidents of the countries will issue a statement as a result of the meeting. As noted by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, the main topics of discussion will be trade and economic ties with Iran and Turkey, as well as regional cooperation.
