Abovyan Bank Manager Injected with Poison, Demanded 500,000 Dram for Antidote

On July 15, at 12:15 PM, the Kotayk Division of the Police received an alarm signal from one of the banks. An operational group dispatched to the bank neutralized and arrested a 47-year-old man from Byureghavan, who was then transferred to the Kotayk Police Department.

On the same day, at 1:00 PM, the interim manager of the Kotayk branch of the bank reported that around 12:10 PM, a masked individual had entered his office at the bank located on Republic Street in Abovyan. The assailant injected him in the thigh with a syringe and demanded 500,000 dram for providing an antidote.

At 1:40 PM, the hospital reported that a 42-year-old man had sought medical assistance with a diagnosis of "acute exogenous poisoning with an unknown substance," stating that he had been injected by an unidentified individual at the bank. The report received has been sent to the investigative body along with the accompanying documents.
