Emergency Situations Ministry to Operate in Emergency Mode in Coming Days, Minister Clarifies
The Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Armen Pambukhchyan, announced at today’s government meeting that due to high temperatures, the Ministry will operate in emergency mode in the coming days.
“The last exercise related to fire-fighting helicopters took place on May 26, meaning that the exercise has been fully completed. All our water resources have been mapped at the Crisis Management National Center, so that we can provide precise coordinates to the helicopter, indicating where it can take water if necessary,” Pambukhchyan emphasized.
The minister added that the majority of fires are caused by human factors, and therefore, regional administration leaders have been visiting recreational areas for the past two days, talking to citizens and urging them to adhere to fire safety regulations.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan urged citizens to be very attentive. According to him, last year the government independently acquired two fire-fighting helicopters equipped with automatic water collection mechanisms.
