Criminal Case Opened in Connection with Khachik Resident Who Crossed into Azerbaijan and Returned
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident of a resident from the village of Khachik in Vayots Dzor Province crossing into Azerbaijani territory and then returning. This was reported by Aram Torosyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, in an interview with Auroranews.
The spokesperson for the Investigative Committee also stated during our conversation that they are awaiting the relevant documents from the territorial division of the Vayots Dzor regional investigative department. He added that an official statement will be released shortly.
It should be recalled that earlier today, “Hraparak” reported that weeks ago, during agricultural work in the vicinity of Khachik village, Azerbaijani forces kidnapped a local resident, 60-year-old Ashot Khachatryan. After keeping him hostage for about a week, he was returned. The newspaper also indicated that he had been subjected to violence.
