Zelensky is at War Against His Own People, Says Zakharova

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is waging war against the people of Ukraine. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a broadcast on Sputnik radio.

The diplomat made this remark in reference to the shelling of civilians in Donbas, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions by the Ukrainian armed forces.

"This is not a war against an enemy, nor a fight against Russia, but a struggle against one's own country. If previously the Kyiv regime was politically destroying Ukraine, and physically annihilating the people of Donbas, today the destruction of people is occurring throughout the entire territory of Ukraine," Zakharova said, emphasizing that Vladimir Zelensky acts in the interests of forces that have no connection to Ukraine.
