8 Injured in Major Accident

Today, on July 13, a major traffic accident occurred in the Lori region. Around 15:20, vehicles of the Opel Vectra and Opel Zafira brands collided on the Yerevan-Vanadzor highway, within the administrative area of the village of Jrashen.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, 8 individuals were taken to the "Spitak" medical center with varying degrees of bodily injuries.

Citizens were the first to respond to the injured, followed by the rapid arrival of firefighters and rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Spitak firefighting and rescue unit, as well as doctors from the Spitak hospital. The latter provided first aid to the injured on-site before their transfer to the hospital.

The firefighters and rescuers deactivated the vehicles, secured the gas canisters, and assisted several injured individuals in reaching the ambulances.
