VIDEO: A Black Family Attacked in a Racist Incident on Istanbul Metro

A Black family was subjected to a racist attack at the Halic station of the Yenikapı-Hacıosman metro line in Istanbul. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.

In a video that has sparked significant uproar on Turkish social media, a metro passenger is seen verbally assaulting a Black man sitting next to him, who was traveling with his wife and child. The man, shouting insults in both Turkish and English, is heard screaming, "Go back to Africa, get out of here!".

According to Turkey's state news agency Anadolu, following the video's circulation on social media, police have detained the unruly citizen. He is accused of "discrimination, inciting hatred and enmity among the public."
