VIDEO: Protesters Discover Large Sum of Money at Sri Lankan President's Residence

Protesters have discovered and handed over to the police more than 17.8 million rupees (approximately $49,100) at the residence of Sri Lanka's president. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a post on the Twitter of the GotaGoGama movement.

Recall that on July 9, massive protests were held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. Instead of a planned peaceful march, the protesters breached police barricades and seized the presidential residence. As a result of the protests, at least 40 people were injured, including two police officers. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was evacuated, and according to media reports, he fled the country by plane.

Additionally, local media report that the Sri Lankan police have arrested three individuals suspected of setting fire to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's house.
