VIDEO: Brother of Former Japanese Prime Minister Denies His Death; Details

Japan's Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi, the brother of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, has not confirmed the death of the country's former leader. He stated that the politician is currently undergoing a blood transfusion in an attempt to save his life. This was revealed by the minister during a press conference broadcasted by Fuji News Network.

"I am praying for his recovery," said Nobuo Kishi.

The individual who attempted to assassinate former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has provided his first testimony. Arrested Tetsuya Yamagami stated that he was "dissatisfied with the former prime minister's policies" and "wanted to kill him." According to media reports, the assailant is 41 years old and previously served in Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Forces.

It should be noted that the assassination attempt took place in Nara, Japan, during the politician's speech, resulting in him being rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Two gunshots were heard, after which the former prime minister collapsed. Agency reports indicate that the assailant shot him from behind, with the bullet damaging the chest area. Other media also reported visible bleeding around Abe's neck.

It has been reported that the politician was hospitalized in an unconscious state. Doctors performed indirect heart massage but he showed no signs of life. Cardiac arrest and lung failure were recorded.
