Prosecutor Did Not Comply with Patrol Officers, Taken into Custody

Today, information was circulated in the media that former MP Gevorg Petrosyan's brother, Prosecutor Edgar Petrosyan, has been taken into police custody.

In a conversation with 'Haykakan Zhamanak,' Vardan Tadevosyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Armenia, stated that Edgar Petrosyan, the prosecutor for the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts, was stopped by patrol officers near the 'Yerevan City' supermarket in the Nor Nork administrative district. However, he did not comply with the officers' requests and drove home instead.

His residence is located in the Duryan neighborhood of the Avan administrative district. A portion of the houses in this neighborhood falls within the territory of Kotayk Province, which is why the case has been transferred to the Investigative Committee's Kotayk regional investigative department. The case has been accepted for proceedings and sent to the Kotayk Prosecutor's Office. Edgar Petrosyan is not under arrest, he added.
