Police Leaks Information: Kubatyan on Marutyan's Alert
Former head of the Yerevan Municipality Information Department, Hovsep Kubatyan, wrote on his Facebook page:
“So, a citizen calls the police and reports some legal violation. Besides the fact that the police do not ensure the caller's confidentiality, they also leak the information to one of the media outlets! Don’t you want to conduct a preliminary investigation and find out how the alert ended up in the media?”
It should be noted that today media reports circulated indicating that “Hayk Marutyan called the operational management center of the Police of Armenia and reported that a traffic police car on Admiral Isakov Avenue is escorting private individuals who are passing through red lights, creating a dangerous situation, and that foul language has been emitted from one of the vehicles.”
Furthermore, the police later addressed the information, stating that the escort was carried out by the traffic police’s escort special squad according to established procedures and legal acts regulating the area. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Malatia investigation unit regarding the foul language emitted from the vehicles.
