"No one listened, they ignored our warnings". Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during a meeting with government members that European countries are trying to replace energy resources received from Russia, which has led to an increase in gas prices.
“The consequence of such actions will be the rise in gas prices on the spot market and the increase in energy resource costs for final consumers, including households,” emphasized Putin.
The Russian president noted that all this once again proves that the sanctions imposed on Russia inflict much greater damage on the countries that impose them.
“I have repeatedly warned my partners in European countries about such consequences, including during personal meetings. But no one listened, they ignored our warnings. This is exactly the situation we predicted, and today it is a reality,” said Putin.
According to Putin, despite the unprecedented restrictions imposed by the West, the situation in the Russian fuel and energy sector is stable, with some indicators even showing growth.
