Statement by the Speaker of the National Assembly

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, has made a statement regarding the resignation application of "Armenia" faction member Arthur Ghazinyan.

According to Article 155, Part 1 of the Constitutional Law of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Deputy Arthur Ghazinyan submitted a resignation application on July 6.

In accordance with Part 2 of Article 155 of the same law, if the deputy withdraws the resignation application in writing within a week after the public announcement of the resignation, the Speaker of the National Assembly will issue a statement. If the deputy does not withdraw the resignation application, a protocol concerning the termination of his powers will be drafted, which will be signed and published by the Speaker of the National Assembly. From the moment the protocol is published, the resignation is considered accepted.
