Police Issues Warning
The Police of Armenia has issued a statement urging compliance with the provisions of the law that prohibits the use of tobacco products and their substitutes. The statement reads:
“According to Article 6 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia on ‘Reducing and Preventing Health Damage From the Use of Tobacco Products and Their Substitutes,’ which came into effect on March 15, 2022, the use of tobacco products and their substitutes is prohibited in public catering establishments, including outdoor venues (such as restaurants, cafes, bars, etc.). We draw the attention of our compatriots to this circumstance, especially given that many are choosing outdoor venues for leisure during the summer holiday period and often forget that the ban on the use of tobacco products and substitutes extends to these locations as well.”
“We remind you that the implementation of the law continues, and administrative liability is established for violations of the aforementioned provisions. The authority to investigate such offenses and impose administrative penalties is reserved for the police. We call on our fellow citizens to demonstrate high civic consciousness, and we are confident that they will not only refrain from violating the law but also support police officers in efforts to protect public health.”
