Incident of Gunfire in Gegharkunik Revealed: Details
As a result of coordinated efforts by various divisions of the police, a 34-year-old man who fired gunshots near the Gagarin gas station has been identified and arrested. This information was provided to Armenpress by the Armenian police.
"On the evening of July 4, the Sevan division of the police received a report of gunshots near the gas station in Gagarin village. Operational investigative groups and forensic experts were dispatched to the scene. The area was examined, and more than twenty cartridges from a handgun were discovered.
Within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated by the Sevan investigative division, operational search measures and investigative actions were conducted, during which several circumstances of the incident were clarified, including the motive and identities of two individuals involved in the incident, aged 27 and 34 from Gegharkunik region.
According to preliminary data, a dispute occurred in the yard of one of the residential buildings in Sevan prior to the gunfire, which continued near the Gagarin gas station. During this time, they fired shots at each other using firearms. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of various police divisions, the 34-year-old man has been identified and arrested. His 'Range Rover' vehicle, linked to the gunfire, has also been found," the statement claimed.
According to the source, the investigation is ongoing.
The suspect in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty by a final court ruling, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
