VIDEO: Explosion at Unibank Branch Results in Fire Destroying Approximately 4 Cubic Meters of Archive Documents

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia has provided details about the explosion that occurred this morning at the Unibank branch in Ashtarak.

It was reported that at the address of 10 Vardges Petrosyan Street, an explosion occurred under undisclosed circumstances, resulting in a fire, which claimed the life of one individual and left six others injured.

The ministry reported that the injured include H.K. (born in 1991), H.Ch. (born in 1996), L.A. (born in 1996), A.M. (born in 1972), H.Kh. (born in 1978), L.Sh. (born in 1996), and R.Kh. (born in 1963). They were hospitalized at the Ashtarak Medical Center, where H.K.'s condition was assessed as critical, while H.Ch., H.Kh., and L.Sh. were in moderate condition, and L.A. and A.M. were in satisfactory condition.

H.Ch., H.Kh., and L.Sh. were transferred to the National Burn Center in Yerevan, while the others were discharged after receiving appropriate medical care. Unfortunately, R.Kh. passed away.

The fire was contained at 9:25 AM and extinguished by 9:54 AM.

In the archival room of the bank branch, approximately 4 cubic meters of documents were burned, and damage was inflicted to the windows at the customer service area, the door, and an interior wall (about 30 square meters). Vehicles parked nearby, including a Mazda, an Opel, and two Mercedes-Benz cars, as well as a window in the adjacent ticket office area, also suffered damage.
