Russia Unable to Produce Iskander and X-101 Missiles, Borrell Explains the Reason
European sanctions have impacted Russia's military industry. They have limited the country's ability to produce Iskander and X-101 missiles, said Josep Borrell, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, in an interview with Yomiuri, as reported by TASS.
Borrell justified the sanctions against Russia by the interference in the production of Iskanders. “Due to the sanctions, Russia's capacity to produce precision guided missiles like Iskander and X-101 is restricted,” he stated.
The sanctions have also affected oil production in terms of horizontal drilling technology, aviation, and the automotive industry. According to Borrell, Russia is 45% dependent on Europe, 21% on the USA, and 11% on China for the procurement of high-tech products.
At the same time, experts have estimated that Russia's inventory of aircraft equipment will last for 3-4 years.
