Vardazaryan Submits Motion to the Supreme Judicial Council

Former President of the Supreme Judicial Council Ruben Vardazaryan's representative Aram Orbelian has submitted a motion to the Acting President of the Supreme Judicial Council, S. Mikayelyan, requesting to postpone the election of the Council's president and to address the appeal hearings prior to the presidential elections.

The text of the motion was published on Vardazaryan's Facebook page, whose powers were terminated by the Council's decision published on June 23. On July 1, Orbelian lodged a complaint against that decision.

It is worth noting that prior to the June 23 decision, the suspended Ruben Vardazaryan had publicized a recording featuring the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Gagik Jhangiryan. Days ago, Jhangiryan resigned. Today, the Council is expected to elect a new president.
