President Awards Fallen Soldier, Ministry of Defense Remains Silent on Circumstances of Death

Armenian President Vahagn Khachatryan has awarded the late soldier Hrachik Filiposyan posthumously. The conscripted soldier was from the village of Byurakan in Aragatsotn Province and was 19 years old. He had been conscripted about a year ago.

According to the decree, “For his bravery and unwavering dedication while defending the borders of the homeland, the conscripted soldier Private Hrachik Vachiki Filiposyan, from Military Unit N of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, is posthumously awarded the Medal for Combat Service.”

It is noted that conscripted soldier Hrachik Filiposyan was killed on June 18 while stationed in the Upper Shorja village positions, due to enemy fire in the Vardenis direction. In a conversation with Auroranews.am, the Ministry of Defense confirmed the soldier's death but did not disclose any further information. Moreover, to date, there has been no official statement released regarding the circumstances surrounding Hrachik Filiposyan's death.
