New Resignation in the National Assembly
The Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration, Armen Gevorgyan, has submitted his resignation from the position of committee chairman.
In his statement, he mentioned: “Since 2021, as the Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration, I have approached my work with great responsibility, contributing my experience and knowledge, and always tried to ensure an effective working environment within the committee. I have done this especially emphasizing the Eurasian development as a prospect for our state. However, the political events in the country have brought me to a point where I am resigning from the position of committee chairman. The current situation dictates clear rules of political, public, and human ethics that I cannot ignore, and which do not allow me to continue serving as the chairman of the committee.”
He also noted that such decisions can be a great opportunity to reevaluate and appreciate gained political experience and new knowledge, and they can also serve as a stimulus for shaping his personal vision of the future, as was the case after leaving high state positions in 2014 and 2018.
At the same time, he stated that he will continue to work and fulfill his commitments in all international platforms and organizations that are important for our state.
Earlier, NEWS.am reported that today, at the initiative of the CP, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ishkhan Saghatelyan and Chairman of the Economic Issues Committee Vahe Hakobyan were also removed from their positions.
